Without a load tester simply watch a volt meter while someone cranks the engine, you shouldn't see voltage drop below ~12v. (And also replace 2 of the 3 rotted, frayed and/or broken ground straps.

The top box needs the mate to connect to which comes standard with the wiring harness for the central locking system. I purchased the wiring harness for the central locking system ($183). BMW tells me there are no instructions on how to install it, even for their techs.
