WebSep 25, 2024 · The switching does indeed only happen in the canopy module: the wall unit is basically a fancy remote that speaks Z-Wave to your hub and takes only a line and neutral wire connection (no load; it doesn't control one, though you'll want your fan/light unit in the ceiling to have line available, so if this is its path...but that's a different story).

I do have more Zooz switches (25-30) compared to inovelli (4). But while the Zooz fan switch has a dimmer for the light it only can switch the fan on and off. No zwave speed control.
