The info I have found if conflicting. Some implies by Dad must have been registered, other info says just having Irish grandparent is enough. WebFor what it's worth, my situation similar to yours. My great-grandfather was born in Ireland, but my grandfather and father were born abroad. My dad was born before 1956. He did the FBR in the 1990's. The "Date of Entry" on his "Foreign Births Entry Book" certificate is also in the 1990's. It wasn't backdated to 1956.
