WebJan 5, 2006 · Gary, The rods on the left (eagle) simply look superior. The level of the finish, even the color of the steel, "look's" better. The Scat's look "soft" and "fat." To me, the quality of the finish, and even the "straightness and smoothness" of the raw parts of the forgings on the Eagles is far and away better. Is what I'm seeing accurate? WebDec 30, 2009 · Off the top of my head the Scat measured no more than .0001 to .0002 out of round or taper. I remember the Eagle was close to .001 off in both measurements on some journals. This could have been a rare occurrence, but because of it I'll be sticking with Scat from now on. From what I can gather Scat still does their final machining in house.
